What makes Zero so special?
FAQs
What makes nano-hydroxyapatite different from fluoride?
Nano-hydroxyapatite (nHAp) is a biocompatible mineral that's identical to what your teeth are naturally made of. Originally developed by NASA, it works to directly rebuild tooth enamel, while fluoride helps your teeth absorb minerals. At a concentration of 10% (which Zero has), nHAp has been shown to be just as effective as fluoride in preventing cavities while reducing sensitivity.
Why 10% nano-hydroxyapatite—does the concentration matter?
Clinical research has demonstrated that this precise 10% concentration effectively penetrates enamel tubules and promotes remineralization. Lower concentrations may not provide sufficient coverage of tooth surfaces, while higher concentrations don't show additional benefits. Many brands claim to have nano-hydroxyapatite in their toothpaste without ever disclosing the concentration, which is often 3X lower than the recommended dose.
How does nano-hydroxyapatite compare to regular hydroxyapatite?
The nano-sized particles in Zero are significantly smaller than traditional hydroxyapatite particles. This smaller size allows them to penetrate deeper into microscopic enamel structures and dentinal tubules, providing better coverage and more effective remineralization
How long will one tube of Zero last?
Using the recommended pea-sized amount twice daily, one 4 ounce tube of Zero typically lasts approximately 2-3 months. Subscribe & Save for 30% off and get a fresh tube delivered automatically every 2 or 3 months and save the hassle.
What does Pure Taste mean? Does it have a strong mint flavor?
Zero features a mild, natural mint flavor with natural sweeteners that leaves your mouth feeling fresh without an overwhelming taste. It's specifically formulated without taste disruptors to avoid interfering with the taste of food and beverages after brushing.
Is Zero safe for kids who might swallow a bit of toothpaste?
Yes! Zero is safe if accidentally swallowed, making it ideal for all ages and anyone who prefers a fluoride-free option. However, we do recommend supervising children under the age of 12 during brushing. If excessive amounts are ingested, consult a medical professional.
Why doesn't Zero Toothpaste foam while brushing as much as my regular toothpaste?
Our toothpaste has less foam than you might be used to—and there's a good reason for that! We chose not to include SLS, a chemical foaming agent commonly found in toothpastes (and shampoos, etc!). While we know people often associate foam with cleaning power, it doesn't provide any boost in cleaning. We prioritized using safe, natural ingredients over creating excessive foam. Rest assured, we've carefully formulated our toothpaste to provide effective cleaning with safety for all ages.
When can I expect to see results for sensitivity?
Most users will experience a noticeable reduction in sensitivity within 1-2 weeks of regular use. For best results, use Zero twice daily and avoid rinsing immediately after brushing.
How many shades lighter will my teeth be by using Zero Toothpaste?
Everyone's smile is unique, and whitening results can vary based on your starting point, but nano-hydroxyapatite helps to fill surface imperfections in the enamel to a create a smoother, more vibrant tooth surface. This can mean your teeth benefit from natural optical whitening up to 2 shades in 1 week of brushing.
